Mentorship, Social Media & Audience Development

between us and everyone here pulls audiences into the familiar mess and comfort of a long-term friendship. Crisp choreography collides with wild, rule-breaking scores that crack open the dancers’ inner worlds. As things unfold, you can chime in and redirect the action, making each performance a one-of-a-kind co-creation.

Through Connect the Dots, Surinder is partnering with Gina Hoch-Stall on between us and everyone here as an embedded mentor focused on audience relationship, inquiry, and process. Working alongside the creative team through rehearsal observation and ongoing dialogue, Connect the Dots supports the development of the work by asking questions that clarify intention, surface tensions around care and vulnerability, and shape how audiences are invited into the experience. This collaboration centers a participatory approach, where meaning is not fixed but emerges through exchange—between performers, process, and audience. Rooted in values of respect, curiosity, and shared responsibility, the mentorship helps translate deeply personal experiences of asking, needing, and receiving support into a collective encounter, expanding the role of the audience from witness to active participant in the work.
